I don't like to give places less than 5 stars, so I will at least give them 4 stars. I will also add that when we came it was the day of the eclipse, so it was busy. When we walked in, we only waited a few minutes for a table, which was great. We sat down and ordered our drinks. Our waitress said she was new, which was hard for her on this high volume day. So we tried to be patient. She did her best, so we were thankful for that. We ordered our food and it took an hour to get 1 biscuit with gravy, fried okra, a baked potato, and french toast. The food was pretty good. The amount of time it took to get our drinks and food was a little frustrating. I feel like the manager could have helped instead of standing around. We had been traveling all day, so we were pretty exhausted and hungry. I am not sure we will go back. I heard it was under new management, so I am not sure how it used to be. Overall, it was okay beside the long wait time for food and drinks.
What a good, no great, place. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, and just plain fun. Like sharing a meal with close family!
Scottie's was great! Great food and environment. The staff was wonderful as well. Friendly, helpful, and funny! I will definitely visit again soon.
I wanted find a small place to have dinner after the eclipse and this place was almost perfect. I got to sit at the counter, talk with everyone on the staff, about just about everything. Everyone else it seemed was traveling, and there should really be no complaints from anyone. The situation was once in a lifetime. They kept my coffee cup full, and the Barbecue Sampler Platter was simply awesome. The gentleman sitting next to me traveled almost the same distance from the opposite direction, close to 500 miles each. You had a full house of people from all over, and from my point of view, everybody handled everything very well.
This place used to be AMAZING. The guy at the bar was hilarious and extremely nice, and the food was an amazing value. $7 for a taco salad and you'd wonder how you'd ever eat the thing, it was loaded down with everything. The last time I stopped by though, apparently they're under new ownership now, all of that changed. The guy at the bar wasn't there anymore and that very same amazing taco salad was tiny, had almost no fixings, and it took the waitress 15 minutes to get me the sauces I requested. That'd be perfectly understandable if the place was packed or she was trying to help another customer, but we were the only ones there.
Tl;Dr, amazing diner ruined by new owner.
